THE Mesh Debugging Tool (Blender 4.x Ready)

Find and Fix Hidden Mesh Issues—Before They Break Your Workflow

You Tried “Merge by Distance.” You Tried “Recalculate Normals.”

But the Shading Still Looks Wrong.

You spent hours searching forums, tweaking modifiers, checking normals, deleting doubles—and nothing worked.

A boolean fails. Substance throws weird bake artifacts. Your model looks perfect until you zoom in—and then the nightmare starts.

That’s where MeshAnalyzer Pro comes in.

What Is MeshAnalyzer?

MeshAnalyzer Pro is a Blender addon that visually inspects your mesh and shows you exactly what’s wrong.

It detects:

  • Poles (1–7+)
  • Face types (triangles, quads, 5-gons, nGons)
  • Non-manifold geometry
  • Disconnected or duplicate vertices
  • Loose geometry that’s easy to miss

All of this is color-coded and overlaid directly onto your model—live in the 3D Viewport.

Feature List:

  • Real-time detection
  • Auto-sync: updates automatically when the mesh is edited
  • X-Ray mode
  • Compatible with Blender 4.2+
  • Works in Blender's Retopology Overlay Mode
  • GPU-powered overlays

Who Is This For?

MeshAnalyzer is made for 3D artists, asset creators, educators, and game developers who need to:

  • Clean up complex models
  • Debug mesh errors fast
  • Ensure export-ready topology
  • Teach or review clean modeling practices

If you’ve ever spent hours looking for faulty geometry or thought “This should work... but doesn’t,” then MeshAnalyzer Pro is for you.

What Problems Does It Solve?

You know how Blender lets you mess up—and doesn’t tell you?

  • You create a weird pole while modeling and don’t notice until your SubSurf goes haywire.
  • Your boolean won’t apply, and you have no idea why.
  • Substance throws a “non-manifold” warning, and your bake explodes.
  • A kitbash asset looks clean - until it breaks everything.

MeshAnalyzer catches these issues before they become problems.

Real-World Example Problems (And How MeshAnalyzer Helped)

1. Inside Faces, Poles & nGons During Modeling

I was modeling manually and accidentally hit “F” with the wrong verts selected.
Suddenly I had an edge not connected to a face - but it didn’t show up until I applied SubSurf.
MeshAnalyzer’s overlay immediately revealed the poles and non-manifold geometry.

2. Modular House Kit – Broken Corners

While building corners for a modular house kit, I used loop cuts and merging—but cleaning up the merged pieces was hard while trying to preserve the geometry.
MeshAnalyzer showed disconnected edges and mismatched vert joins I’d never spotted. This literally saved me hours!

3. Tree Branch Attachments

While developing the new meshing-update to my TreeShaper-Addon (check it out ;-)) tool, the branching algorithm appeared fine—but the geometry was broken.

The branch geometry was created but not connected to the main branches. Take a look at the green overlays for non-manifold geometry and the white vertices showing double vertices.

MeshAnalyzer revealed double edge loops that looked connected but were separated just enough to ruin UV unwraps and shading.
